Champsaurs
 Champsaur
is a small wine producer now based in Mudgee in Central Western
New South Wales and specialising in low volume, high quality wines
using exclusively hand picked fruit from hand pruned vines grown
at an altitude of 500 metres.
The principal of Champsaur is Bill Washington, a great grandson
of the founder of the label, Joseph Bernard Reymond.
The history of Champsaur dates back for over 120 years and we invite
you to share it with us by pressing the ‘History’ and
‘Winemaking Past’ buttons.
Bill Washington has been a farmer in Mudgee since 1975 and having
seen the modern wine industry grow in Mudgee and having a family
background in the industry, moved from farming to specialised grape
production in 1997 with the acquisition of ‘Homedale’
Eurunderee.
With the passing of the third generation Bill has carried on the
Champsaur tradition of wine growing bringing to the label more than
30 years of farming experience and specialised training in viticulture
with the philosophy that low yielding, closely monitored, hand pruned
vines when hand picked yield the best possible quality wine.
We at Champsaur invite you to browse through our web site and learn
more about our approach to winegrowing and winemaking.
